Abstract

This paper proposes a new application of pile foundation to reinforced soil structure in order to improve horizontal resistance of the structure. The effectiveness of the application and dynamic interaction between pile and reinforced soil structure was confirmed from the result of a dynamic centrifuge (50G) model test, and a design method of the reinforced soil structure with using piles (Piled Geo-wall) was proposed through the simulation of the test by two dimensional dynamic FEM analysis.
