Abstract

This study aims to achieve independent reinforced soil structure with pile foundation, which can apply to earth retaining wall, rockfall protection structure and others that can built on narrow construction site, such as on a sloped foundation or beside mountainous road. In this study, in order to confirm the effectiveness of the application of pile foundation to reinforced soil structure for improvement of the lateral resistance and investigate interaction between pile and reinforced soil structure, a dynamic centrifuge model test (25G) was carried out. And a numerical simulation of the experiment was conducted to propose a design method of the structure.
