Research interests
ピオグリタゾンは画期的な薬剤であるが,深刻な末梢性浮腫が生じることが重要な問題となっている.その対処療法として利尿薬が用いられているが,ピオグリタゾンで生じる過剰な水分の体内貯留には無効なことが多く,長期的な使用では糖尿病を悪化させる危険性が指摘されている.そのため,体内の水分代謝調節作用を持ち,電解質異常改善効果や腎保護作用を併せ持つ五苓散を用いることで末梢性浮腫を改善することが可能か否か,さらに糖尿病に対する治療効果について検討している.
